An intriguing thriller which seems intent on removing all tension as soon as anything builds. I’d quite like to go to sleep and forget it.
A rudimentary Danish detective film which ticks all the boxes for a watchable TV series. Occasionally chilling with some very loud noises.
A tense but unrewarding by-the-numbers post-apocalyptic buddy movie (The Brover).
Ddl Oscar vehicle. Lots of zooming in on Lincolns face while he says inspirational things to a soundtrack of light trumpet music. Very good. 9/10
Pretty good – but like the beatles, it’s only really well regarded because of the changes it caused. Good changes though. 10/10
Not very likeable character. But a likeable plot. 6/10
ZERO DARK THIRTY
Too Hollywood. Not enough grit. Changed my mind, it’s good. 8/10
Not bad. Brilliant first hour let down by plodding conclusion for the remaining two. 7/10
Never seen this before. It’s very good. I could wake up and watch this every day.
Like watching a play. A really good one. 10/10
ANVIL – THE STORY OF ANVIL
I learnt a lot about the futile existence of ageing metal bands. Ending wasn’t sufficient, my own research made me happier. 9/10
ATTACK THE BLOCK
Well executed indie alien invasion film. Still think I could have directed it better Joe. 6/10
Brilliant performances (except tarintino) in a brilliantly written film by Tarantino. 10/10
PART1: 6/10 – Used to love this when I was younger. Now seems to be lacking something.
PART2: 9/10 – Used to loathe this when I was younger. Now seems to have something.
Tidal waves of tears and hugging. 3/10
Lots of joyless terrible singing vs a couple of beautiful moments. 6/10
THE HOBBIT – AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY
Short people moving about. Set pieces. Further movement.
Edit: Even more movement in HFR
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww, old people. Rubbish ending. 3/5
Lame action film full of poorly constructed one liners and lack of consistency….like this blog.
Not very good. Showed promise in the first story – they all got a bit repetitive and dull. Occasional creepy moments, mainly not. 3/10
